TROUBLESHOOTING TRAINING ACCORDING TO IPC-A-610 ACCEPTABILITY OF ELECTRONICS ASSEMBLIES STANDARD

 When applying high quality criteria to electronic products, IPC-A-610 is the most widely used testing standard in the electronics industry and has earned an international reputation as a source of end product quality for general purpose and high reliability products.

The training and certification programme is designed to obtain the IPC-A-610 Specialist (CIS) certification. The training programme consists of 7 modules, the first of which is mandatory, the others can be chosen as needed (modules 2 and 3 are required to pass modules 4, 5, 6).

 

Duration of (initial) certification training: 3 working days.
Duration of recertification training: 2 working days.
Training is paid.

  • IPC policies and procedures, documentation and handling [Mandatory]
  • Soldering and High Voltage
  • Component Damage and Printed Circuit Boards and Assemblies
  • Connections [M2 required]
  • Through-Hole Technology (Including TH Jumper Wires)  [M2 and M3 required]
  • Surface Mount Assemblies (Including SMT Jumper Wires)  [M2 and M3 required]
  • Component Securing
Syllabus

During the sessions, participants are taught to find, recognise and evaluate defects in electronic products.

Upon completion of the training, the participant will have a general understanding of the IPC-A-610 standard, terms and definitions, and product handling. During the training, the following topics will be covered: requirements for soldering acceptability, anomalies, soldering of high voltage circuits, damage to components, printed circuit boards and assemblies, soldering and acceptability requirements for connections, installation, fastening and soldering of through-hole components in metallised and non-metallised holes, surface mounting, connections, etc.

All necessary literature is provided during the training. If necessary, the dates can be adjusted according to the needs of the company. It is possible to bring your own products as a means of putting skills into practice (if it is compatible with company rules). If necessary, training can be conducted at the company's premises.
