A visit to Schmalkalden University of Applied Sciences was paid by Dr. Lina Girdauskienė, the director of Kaunas University of Applied Engineering Sciences, together with the teachers and administration members on October 17th – 21st.
The purpose of the visit was to commemorate 50 years of successful cooperation between the two institutions: it is worth mentioning that this is the oldest partnership still maintained abroad for Schmalkalden University.
A solemn ceremony was held in the assembly hall of the University to honor the 50th anniversary.
The director of Schmalkalden University of Applied Sciences, prof. Gundolf Baier and Dr. Lina Girdauskienė, the director of Kaunas University of Applied Engineering Sciences expressed their pride in the cooperation between the two institutions: it was agreed that such mutual, sincere and friendly partnership shall continue.
Symbolic gifts were also exchanged: the guests of honor from Lithuania were awarded a book dedicated to the 50th anniversary and commemorative medals, while the speakers and lecturers of Schmalkalden University of Applied Sciences were honored with presents from Kaunas.
