March 11th is a special day for all the Lithuanians around the world: in 1990 following the Act on the Re-establishment of the Independent State of Lithuania, it was announced that Lithuania was once again an independent state. After the fifty-year long occupation and annexation by the soviet powers, a new page in history was finally opened.
March 11th is a symbol of resistance, democracy and the rebirth of statehood. By gathering together and celebrating this event together every year, we remember how strong a united nation is and how important it is to celebrate and protect one's freedom.
This year, we would like to invite everybody to celebrate this special day, and join the events dedicated to Lithuania's Independence Day starting on March 7th.
