International Week "ENGINEERING AND EDUCATIONAL TECHNOLOGIES 2024" in Kaunas University of Applied Engineering Sciences

International Week "ENGINEERING AND EDUCATIONAL TECHNOLOGIES 2024" has officially ended on Friday, April 26th in Kaunas University of Applied Engineering Sciences: participants from Latvia, Poland, Germany, North Macedonia, Slovenia, Portugal, Spain, Malta, Italy, and Turkey gathered to take part in different educational and cultural activities.

On Monday, the all the participants were given a welcome speech by the director of Kaunas University of Applied Engineering Sciences dr. Lina Girdauskienė. Once the opening of the event was over, all the participants had a chance to be toured around the university spaces. The day was completed by everyone gathering for a welcome dinner in „Miesto Sodas”.

On Tuesday, the guest lectures gave lectures to the university students and the staff members: peculiarities of the international community and cases of good practice were discussed. All the participants carried out different activities for the rest of the day.

Wednesday was a different day for all the participants: a scientific conference "Engineering and Educational Technologies 2024: Creating an Inclusive Learning Environment by Training Engineering Specialists" was held.  Panel discussion also took place during the conference. In the latter, the following topics were discussed, creating an inclusive learning environment: where the training of a competent specialist begins and ends; collaboration between education stakeholders to create an inclusive learning environment. Professor at the Academy of Education Vytautas Magnus University Dr. Genutė Gedvilienė, director of Kaunas University of Applied Engineering Sciences Dr. Lina Girdauskienė, president of (LMVA), director of Kaunas University of Technology Engineering Lyceum Dr. Dainius Žvirdauskas, Kaunas University of Applied Engineering Sciences alumnus Mykolas Našlėnas and head of KTK "Racing Division" Povilas Bonkevičius all took part in the discussion.

After the discussion, guests from partner universities and KTK community members gathered in scientific groups where they listened and read the reports. Representatives from the following companies also participated in the group discussion: "UAB Žilinskis", "UAB Peikko Lietuva", "UAB AtkinsRealis", UAB DOJUS agro, "UAB Flamanda", AB "Lietuvos geležinkeliai", "UAB Iremas", "UAB Tyrens Lietuva", " UAB YIT Lietuva", "AB VIA Lietuva", "UAB Realprojektas", "AB Kauno tiltai", "Asphalab Baustoffprüfungen GmbH".

On Thursday, all the guests had trips to the partnering companies: the guest lectures took a tour around the laboratories of “UAB Peikko Lietuva”, while BIP students of Aviation English visited the hangar of “UAB FL Technics”. In the evening, an educational tour around Volfas Engelman brewery was given to the guest lecturers and the guests from Kaunas University of Applied Engineering Sciences.

The week was closed by holding a discussion with the students: general comments were given, and the overall experience of the International Week was shared. The rest of the guests took a trip to Nida and the Hill of Crosses.
